Welcome to 2012 and back to training

A Happy New Year to all and welcome to 2012 and back to training !

Today sees us return to the mats for training from the Xmas and New Years break and no doubt keen to burn off all the food and beer we consumed during this festive season.

This year is expected to be even bigger and better than 2011, with a lot happening at the dojang and with its students.

The calendar is marked full of events from our usual kids & adults grading, to the NAS Tournaments, our annual Blood Donation, Cronulla Spring Fair to name but a few events.

No doubt one of the highlight events this year will be Sir Matt going for his 2nd Degree Black Belt end of April. Don’t miss this one guys !

See you all on the mats !

Last class for 2011

Our last Hapkido class for 2011 will be Thursday 22nd December.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their efforts in training and assisting others throughout 2011.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  If you are traveling, going away anywhere, be safe and see you all back on the mats on 4th January 2012 !

Please be sure to come and support our club.

Sat 23-July Hapkido Grading was Packed to the Rafters

Test Your MightThis entry was supposed to be released way earlier, but since I was and still am extremely busy AND with such a huge number of students grading I’m sure everyone knew when it starts and what it takes to take part in it etc.

Now for all who missed it (I don’t believe anyone did the Dojang was packed to the rafters, both with students grading, students helping out and visitors observing ;-)
Arrival 12noon sharp, cleaning started earlier though.
Warm-up was supposed to start on 12.30pm but no Sir’s or other senior belts were in sight.

Give Blood Day 4-June 2011

It’s time to give something back to the community. Especially to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, since they’re doing a awesome job.

I am sure you must have heard already that KMA is organising a group blood donation on Saturday 4th June 2011. If you haven’t please put your name down to the rego sheet at the front desk or ask Mark.

Grappling Tuesday with Sir Evan

Attention Grappler’s and everyone above Blue belt and/or if you think your ground work needs improvement!

Sir Evan, Absolute Fighting Arts school owner, is coming to Cronulla on 24-May and will show us some great warm-ups and runs us through some BJJ drills before we all get cracking on freestyle grappling to finish off.

If you’re keen to attend let either Sir know or talk to Mark at the front desk for any queries.

Please support Fighters Against Child Abuse Australia (F.A.C.A.A.)

FACAA LogoThis is a topic that is very dear to me and really should concern everyone. It is estimated that every year nearly 200,000 children are abused in Australia. F.A.C.A.A. is a non- profit organisation set up to break the cycle of abuse.
