Sat 23-July Hapkido Grading was Packed to the Rafters

Test Your MightThis entry was supposed to be released way earlier, but since I was and still am extremely busy AND with such a huge number of students grading I’m sure everyone knew when it starts and what it takes to take part in it etc.

Now for all who missed it (I don’t believe anyone did the Dojang was packed to the rafters, both with students grading, students helping out and visitors observing ;-)
Arrival 12noon sharp, cleaning started earlier though.
Warm-up was supposed to start on 12.30pm but no Sir’s or other senior belts were in sight.

The actual grading had to start ~1pm, so luckily I was around to kick-off the warm-up ;-)
Well, maybe not so lucky for the white belts. Mind you I am a strong believer in “if you’re cool enough to call the exercise then you should be good enough to do it yourself”.
Note to white belts who graded up, make sure your fitness or focus will increase a notch the next couple of months ;-) yellow & green belts, good spirit and focus during the warm-up.

This grading was a pretty high level one and once the grading was in full swing everyone was very focused.
The start was a bit confusing for all parties to work out how the grading will actually was to be held but once sorted all went down pretty well.

So long story short, everyone did quite well. Lessons learned, higher belts: Breaking wood is once more about focus and not just hammering through. I have to mention Paul, as he did an outstanding performance throughout the grading and white belts, good job and make sure you stick around for fancy arm bars and finger techniques.

Congratulations everyone
